After I wish, use the past form → to talk about now (not real).

> I wish I had a car. (= I don’t have one now.)



After It’s time, also use past → to mean we should do it now.

> It’s time we went home.



Use like to compare, as to show a role or job.

> She works as a nurse. / She sings like an angel.
