Last weekend, Anna went to the city with her friends. They took the bus early in the morning. First, they ate breakfast at a small café. Anna had pancakes and juice. Then they saw a movie at the cinema. After the movie, they bought some clothes at the mall.

Irregular Verb Race (Team Game)


How to Play:

1. Divide the class into 2–3 teams.


2. Write 15 base form irregular verbs on the board (e.g., go, eat, take, come, write, etc.).


3. Each team sends one student at a time to the board.


4. You call out:

“Past!” → They write the past tense of a verb.

“Past participle!” → They write the past participle of a verb.

“Base form!” → They write the base form if you say the past or past participle.


5. Teams get 1 point for each correct answer.


6. Continue rotating students until all verbs have been used or time is up.


Variation: Pass the Verb Ball

Write irregular verbs (base, past, and past participle) on slips of paper.

Play music and pass a ball around.

When the music stops, the student with the ball picks a verb and must say all three forms aloud.

Others help if needed—it's a team challenge!
