Here’s a simple physical exercise that ties into the lesson and keeps students moving while practicing English:

"Taiwan Travel Steps" Game

Objective: Students practice using the present perfect while moving around the classroom.

How to Play:

  1. Set up the room:

    • Choose 4 corners or areas in the classroom and label them with famous places in Taiwan (e.g., Taipei 101, Night Market, Temple, Hot Spring).
  2. Give instructions:

    • Read out a sentence using the present perfect (e.g., "I have eaten dumplings.").
    • If students have done the activity, they take two steps forward toward the place.
    • If they haven’t done it, they stay where they are and say "I have never eaten dumplings."
  3. Continue with more sentences:

    • I have tried bubble tea.
    • I have never visited Taiwan.
    • I have seen a temple before.
    • I have never ridden a scooter.
    • I have watched a dragon dance.
  4. Finish the game:

    • The first student to reach a location must say a sentence about it using the present perfect.

"Taiwanese Treasure Hunt" (Movement & Learning Game)

Objective: Practice present perfect while moving around the room in a fun, interactive way.

How to Play:

1. Prepare "Experience Cards" – Write various Taiwan-related experiences on small pieces of paper (e.g., tried bubble tea, visited a temple, seen Taipei 101, eaten dumplings, ridden a scooter). Hide them around the classroom.

2. Students Search & Move – Students walk, jog, or hop around the room searching for these cards. When they find one, they must say a present perfect sentence before keeping it.

Example: If a student finds "ridden a scooter," they say, "I have never ridden a scooter."

3. Add an Action – After saying the sentence, the student must do a simple physical action related to Taiwan:

Bubble tea card → Pretend to drink a big cup

Taipei 101 card → Stretch up tall like a skyscraper

Scooter card → Pretend to ride a scooter

Night market card → Walk around like they're exploring stalls

4. Race to Collect – The student who collects the most cards (by making correct sentences) wins!
