Game: "Sri Lanka Mystery Box"

Objective: Students will describe and guess Sri Lankan items, places, or traditions while practicing speaking skills.

How to Play:

  1. Prepare clue cards with words related to Sri Lanka (e.g., elephant, tea, Colombo, temple, sarong, rice and curry, coconut, cricket, tuk-tuk, Adam’s Peak).
  2. Put the cards in a "Mystery Box" (a hat, bag, or small box).
  3. One student picks a card (without showing it to others).
  4. The student describes the word without saying it. Example:
    • If the word is "coconut", they might say:
      "It is a round fruit. It is brown outside and white inside. People use it to cook in Sri Lanka."
  5. The other students guess the word.
  6. The person who guesses correctly gets a point and picks the next card.
  7. Continue until all words are used. The student with the most points wins.
